Brisbane Airport is a good airport. It is surprisingly well designed with very good food options. There too is an immense amount of public transport services, a hotel for those who have a longer stopover and a multi-story car park. Only problem I had with this airport was the poor hygiene in some places and the outdatedness of the airport in general. Overall, Brisbane Airport is a good airport, that deserves a four out of five rating from me.
Air train makes travelling to/from this airport very easy. Checking in and boarding departing flights is relatively simple, good signage. If arriving from international flights, its very quick and easy if you are and Australian resident.
No where as good as Melbourne airport. A roundabout slows traffic going into the airport, we have to stick our own baggage stickers, machines that don't work. Though the staff we met were courteous and lovely, there needs to be more done to make the quality of travel of a high standard. Less machines and more people.
Please consider big bold signage from the Domestic pickup/drop off area, directing cars in a loop back around the side streets. Security does not allow waiting there, wave you away and you then dont know where to go!! Its so confusing and stressful. Flyover? Side road? Who knows?? I had to stop & set my GPS twice. Its dangerous. Bold loop signage would be a simple fix. Problem has existed for years. Please consider, thanks!
The domestics airport at Brisbane has an excellent range of stores and food outlets. However, it is in desperate need of some decent water fountains. I travel through this domestic airport 4 times a month and have done so for the last 6 years. For this entire time, the four fountains located beyond security have each had faulty taps. As some of the food outlets charge $5+ for a bottle of water it would be great to be able to get my personal drink bottle under a fountain tap to fill it. The fountains at the international terminal are much better.
