A must visit for EVERYONE. Art to the max, activities for kids, relaxing spaces everywhere, State Library, Museum and traditional Art Gallery nearby. We spend at least one day here every holiday. All right next to the Brisbane River.
Very very impressed. This place has displays that are interesting, facinating and impressionable. Well worth a visit. Take your time as there is a lot to take in and plenty of places to rest. I was also impressed with the friendly and professional staff. Wow, just a lovely way to spend an afternoon. I took many many photos!
I don't know how it's possible but this has got to be one of the best gallery's in the world. I read a review on here previously about someone coming in here to get shade and they stated they were gonna smacked by how good it is. I too have to back this up, despite Brisbane being a small little city on the other side of the world, London and Paris should take note of how to do a gallery. Everything about this place is perfect, I have come here several times since my first visit and would highly recommend this to anyone regardless of if you like art or not. Hands down the best gallery I have ever been to.
Way out there, way in there. Doesn't have to just be art critics. Plenty of family areas, interesting and beautiful art both painted and constructed. Many cinema areas both for viewing pleasure and, if i am honest, a place to sit and rest sore feet. Strongly recommended for dates, singles, families and those wanting to expand their world (everyone really). Go in with an open mind, or not, and enjoy everything they have on offer. Also, the staff have a good knowledge of the art so remember to ask if it doesn't make sense. And remember- it's free, and for those wanting to escape the heat the air con is really really good! I would this recommend any day!
The GOMA is a really neat museum. If you love modern art, this is the place to go. Part of the APT9 stretches from the Queensland Art Gallery to here and the connection is great! They have everything from more conventional modern art to some really out there stuff, so I think there is something for everyone! I will say, this museum isnt as children friendly, but can be the nature of modern art. Its free to go through and I think worth it.
