An amazing place for all the art lovers. A place to get a hint of global art with all the audacious and vivid art works. Apart from the huge place dedicated to showcase the art, the Queensland Art Gallery building, in itself is a brilliant piece of Architecture. An iconic and must-visit place in Brisbane.
Great collection, very well kept, friendly staff & security. All other galleries are in the vicinity super convenient. Although the floor planing & maps are slightly confusing, but it could very well just be myself thinking so
One of the most important places to visit in Brisbane. The Queensland Art gallery provides a multicultural perspective of Art. Depending on the selected theme, they provide that each display is perfectly resembling the artist statement- this increases your level of understanding, thus giving you the full perspective of what the artist is trying to say. All the selected artworks are almost always an eye-opening experience. So many meanings can be depicted through their selection of artworks, yet so powerful in its final representation. I would definitely recommend visiting for those not only interested in surrealism but for anyone that is interested in exploring the different perspectives of life through the souls of amazing artists.
Large collection of aboriginal ant and artifacts. Best selection of North QLD shields you will find anywhere. Parts of the Natural History Museum are a bit dated but is being improved. Great museum but you can give the food a miss - have tried it on more than one occasion and wasnt worth eating. Ordered a tasting platter during the mummy exhibit and it came with multi colored white bread.
I totally loved showing my UK Guest around this wonderful gallery. Knowledgeable and engaging staff added to our enjoyment. The Aboriginal Exhibits were amazing. I felt truly touched by the profound beauty of each painting. Appreciating, exhibiting and celebrating the unique art of Australia makes me proud. My friend who is a designer was enamoured by the colours of Jacaranda. I'm expecting that will be a new addition to her paint range very soon. Inspired by our visit.
