Great spot for a beer. The $7 pint happy hour is very enticing! The only fault I can give this place is that the basement smells a bit musky... but unless you're going there to gamble, who cares!
Our humble little group visit here every Thursday afternoon for beer o'clock and are grateful to the staff for accommodating us. Staff are always friendly and the pricing is on point (: plus the view from upstairs makes is a vantage point for excellent people watching
Great pub, good atmosphere with live bands and fun people. Security is spot on just in case someone gets too happy. Has two levels, DJ upstairs.
My husband and I came in on a saturday night because we heard there was live music and that it might be a fun place to go out. How wrong we were. The air conditioning on the main floor was broken according to the poor sweaty bartender that served me and it felt like 50 degrees in there! I asked if we could open one of the windows and was told that we weren't allowed because of "safety reasons". I was drenched in sweat just walking to the bar! Then after being served drinks (that cost a fortune!) a drunken group of loud people started yelling at the top of their lungs for no reason in my husband and my ears and spilled his drink. We tried to speak to security about it but they seemed disinterested.A big thank you to the bartender who replaced our drink. We may come back on a quieter night before our holiday ends to see if this experience was just a one off and hopefully by then the problem with your air conditioner is fixed!
Wandered in off the street and was greeted by the friendly manager from behind the bar. I had a killer lamb burger and fries off the very reasonably priced lunch special menu, she had a delightful rump roast. Enjoyed beers from the veranda. Cold beer, good food, charming Irish staff, what more could one want?
