Had to be admitted to the emergency ward yesterday and wow I am so impressed. I was seen to very quickly and led straight to a bed, the doctors and nurses went straight to work administering steroids and anti-biotics. The staff were very efficient and freindly nothing was too hard for them. Aside from the original reason I had been admitted I also had a wound on my toe that had taken months to heal, the doctor noticed it and sent me off to get X-rays to ensure I didn't have a bone infection. After everything they fed me a delicious lunch and sent me off with anti-biotics in hand. Can't recommend the Mater or the staff more - thank you.
Was just turned away from the early pregnancy unit because they were "too busy" to do an ultrasound after I experienced clotting. Waited 3.5 hours, was given a blood test but told they were "too busy" to give me the results. Absolutely disgusting. No compassion whatsoever
The staff in Ward 10B Mater Public are so rude especially the Sister in charge. The care was non-existent. They really don't care about the patients. It is so sad to see the elderly suffering, and afraid to say anything, as they are in the hands of these rude, incompetent staff. They should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. I would never recommend anyone to go to the the Mater Hospital.
The public emergency department is top class! My time in emergency and short stay was excellent care. Dr's and nurses do an amazing job under such enormous pressure. Well done?
